Sweet pie with dry fruits
A sweet pie with dry fruits, ideal for coffee or tea, so much healthy and tasty! You're gonna love it...
For the dough:
300 gr. of orange juice
200 gr. of olive oil
600 gr. of self - rising flour or
600 gr. of flour for all purpose + 2 teaspoons of baking powder
Mix well the ingredients for the dough all together until smooth. Divide dough into 2 equal portions and shape into balls (one for each pastry sheet, up and down).
For the filling:
150 gr. of dry abricots
150 gr. of prunes
150 gr. of dry figs
50 gr. of raisins
50 gr. of almonds (chopped)
50 gr. of walnuts (chopped)
120 gr. of flour for all purpose
½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder
¼ teaspoon of nutmeg powder
150 gr. of brown sugar
100 gr. honey
Cut dry fruits in the middle and then mix them all together. Add chopped almonds and
walnuts. Add the flour, the cinnamon and the nutmeg powder. Boil honey with sugar up to become a syrup. Then, add the mixture of dry fruits, almonds, walnuts, flour and spices in the syrup and mix very well. Withdraw from the heating and let the mixture cool. Take one part of the dough and spread in a baking pan for tarts using your hands (must be very thin). Pour the filling-mixture and spread it uniformly. Take the second part of the dough and try to spread it using your hands or a rolling pin , if possible, and make a pastry sheet to cover your pie. Bake in a moderate oven (180ο C) for about 40 minutes.
In case that the dough is too soft, you may add some more flour.
